Franco Michele Puca Award 2009

The Italian Society for the Study of Headaches (SISC) announces the availability of the 2009 Franco Michele Puca Award.

The award will be granted to Italian researchers under the age of 35 for the best research proposal in the field of basic or clinical aspects of headache and head or face pain.

  • The recipient of this award will receive € 2.500.

The criteria for selection will be based on: 1) The scientific quality of the project; 2) Qualifications of the applicant; and 3) The quality of the research environment.

To be considered for this award, applicants must submit:

  • the application form
  • a detailed description of the research proposal (see Instructions for Candidate)
  • a current curriculum vitae (including a list of at least 5 publications cited in Index Medicus) in the field of headache or head and face pain
  • a description of present and future research projects, the facilities and resources available and the composition of the research group.

To be considered for this award, the application form and all supporting documents must be received by SISC no later than 31 July 2009. All documentation should be sent by e-mail to sisc@sisc.it.

This award is sponsored by an unrestricted educational grant from Allergan Pharmaceuticals International Ltd.

Instructions for Candidate
Franco Michele Puca Award 2009

1)   Criteria for selection are based on:

  • The scientific quality of the project
  • Qualifications of the applicant
  • The quality of the research environment

2)   The research proposal should include:

  • Brief summary
  • Background and significance
  • Aims
  • Methods
  • Expected results
  • Financial resources/budget for the project

3)   The proposal should not exceed 8 (eight) single spaced pages (including references and figures).

4)   Recipients must submit a progress report after six months of work.
5)   The recipient will be invited to present his/her results at the Italian Society for the Study of Headache’s Annual National Congress 2010.

6)   Applicants must reside in Italy.
